ABOUT

The Sunny505 team has worked with Los Alamos County on tourism marketing and special events promotion since 2005. The Key Performance Indicators we created to measure success were increases in Gross Receipts Tax (sales tax) and increases in Lodgers’ Tax – both indicators that more tourists were booking getaways in Los Alamos County.

To increase tourism, we worked closely with County leaders to bring to life the tagline “Where Discoveries Are Made.” We utilized dramatic photography and videography to showcase the incredible cultural and outdoor experiences that can be had only in and around Los Alamos, NM. We supplemented paid advertising (both traditional and new media) with earned media outreach and social media.

RESULTS

They have experienced year-over-year increases in both Gross Receipts Tax and Lodgers’ Tax every year for the last five, as well as year-over-year increases in website traffic, that ultimately converted to trips booked. Additionally, all events saw double-digit attendance increases in the last fiscal year.
