Production in a COVID world Pt. 2

How to Host A Virtual Event
As the year draws to a close, we reflect on all that we have learned during this period. In an industry that is always changing and growing, this year is no exception. We have helped numerous non-profits, government entities and companies move forward with virtual events.

Here’s a look at some of the creative solutions we came up with to continue making amazing videos for our clients. Because even during this “normal,” we want our creative to be anything but.

Problem:
The Domestic Violence Resource Center of New Mexico had recruited popular actor and local favorite, Dean Norris, to deliver their keynote address, but there were a few challenges to address. Dean Norris, who played Hank Shrader on the widely acclaimed television show, Breaking Bad, was on location in New Orleans and was unable to travel due to COVID-19 restrictions. Our challenge was to work around his busy schedule and capture his story remotely.

Solution:

The Sunny505 team had started producing Zoom events and interviews very early in the pandemic and began innovating to leverage the available tools. When the call came to record Dean Norris, we decided to interview him via Zoom with the only technology he had — an iPad inside his RV. We interviewed and recorded his story and edited it with additional footage, music, and graphics to reflect his Breaking Bad character and his connection to New Mexico. The audience loved it and, in Dean’s words, “Looks great! Awesome job putting it together!”
